Description
A community-based food distribution center, the IFC Food Pantry distributes food and basic toiletries to the hungry, disadvantaged, disabled and homeless.
Three types of Food Assistance are offered:
1. Emergency food assistance is available to all clients without registration and offers at minimum access to nonperishable food items.
2. To receive weekly nonemergency food assistance, Recipients must register with IFC. (Registered clients receive dairy, meat, produce, bread for up to 8 -10 meals)
Eligibility: Clients must reside in Whittier, La Mirada or City of Santa Fe Springs or in unincorporated LA County with a Whitter zip code. in Southeastern Los Angeles County. Clients must also meet federal income guidelines.
3. Sack Lunch Program for the Homeless: Homeless individuals can go to window in back parking lot and present ID to receive a sack lunch. 3 days a week.
Eligibility: to receive sack lunch, must live on street, in a car, shelter or motel to qualify.
